Wallfoot Environmental Policy
At Wallfoot we are trying to do our bit to reduce our carbon footprint
we have a biomass boiler (fueled by waste local timber) to heat the whole hotel and our hot water is provided by solar thermal panels.
We currently hold a bronze CBEN award for our environmental efforts with recycling,
water conservation and locally sourced produce and following our reassessment this spring we hope to progress to silver.
Our annual carbon savings as calculated by the carbon trust are 38.6 tonnes or 38,600 kg per annum. This would eqate to 106 kg per day. The carbon savings refer to our use of biomass heating and solar as opposed to electricity
